First VP Mohammad Mokhber would expect official powers in case of President Ebrahim Raisi’s demise, whenever supported by Iran’s preeminent chief, as per the nation’s constitution.
Mokhber, 69, is the most senior of the 12 VPs. Under Article 131 of the Iranian constitution, which passed in 1989, a chamber of pioneers from the leader, regulative and legal branches — the main VP, the speaker of parliament and the central equity — are liable for organizing a unique political decision for another president in 50 days or less.
